Stuck? Here's how to fix it.

Most issues are setup-related: Google sign-in, Accessibility permission, microphone permission, or focusing the target text field before you dictate.

The dictation hotkey isn't working on Mac.

Buna needs Accessibility permission to listen for ⌥ Space and to paste transcripts into other apps. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, find Buna, and toggle it on. If Buna isn't in the list, drag /Applications/Buna.app into the list manually.

Buna keeps asking for Accessibility permission.

macOS ties this permission to the signed app on disk. Install the signed beta in /Applications and avoid running random debug builds from Downloads; that stops the repeated prompts.

Do I need to sign in?

Yes. The Mac beta requires Google sign-in because transcription, history sync, and the 60 minute/month free quota are tied to your Firebase account.

Where did my text go?

Buna pastes into the currently focused text field. If no field was focused, open Buna → History; successful transcripts are saved there so you can copy or reinsert them.

Can I dictate in Amharic?

English is the tested production beta language. Amharic remains an advanced/experimental path while we tune quality, but it is not the launch promise.

I want to delete my account.
